Prescriptions

Repeat Prescriptions

If you take Medicine regularly, you will usually have a repeat prescription.

This means that you can order your medicine when you need it without having to see a GP.

Repeat prescriptions cannot be ordered by telephone.

To help protect patient safety and ensure that medication requests are processed accurately, repeat prescriptions must be submitted online or using a paper request form. As our reception team and telephone AI system are not clinically trained, accepting prescription requests by phone may increase the risk of errors.

Order via NHS Website

The NHS app is a quick way to access NHS services. Using the NHS app means you do not need to enter your personal details each time you contact the surgery. You can read more about the app on the NHS website.

You can use your NHS account to order a repeat prescription.

You will need the NHS app or your NHS account login details.

Order using our online form

You can order a repeat prescription using an online form.

We recommend only using this form if you do not have access to other online services like the NHS app.

You will need to provide the name of the medication and dosage.

You can also fill out a paper request form (available at our surgery reception desks) and drop this off at the practice.

If you have a repeat prescription slip, you can drop it off in our prescription drop box out of hours, or hand this to reception during opening hours.

Nominating a pharmacy

When you order a prescription online, you can have your prescription sent electronically to a pharmacy of your choice to collect your medication. This is called a nomination.

New prescription requests

Requests for new medications cannot be processed as repeat prescriptions and must be submitted using our online request form. This allows our clinical triage team to review your request safely and ensure the most appropriate treatment and follow-up is arranged.
